Starting with Plasticene, Governor-General’s award-winning author and illustrator Barbara Reid builds layers of modeling clay and then adds bits of sticks, pins, wires, candy wrappers, cloth and more to shape three dimensional pictures that have to be stored in pizza boxes. The result is illustrations that leap off the page to enchant young readers.

Reid’s illustrations have won every major children’s book award. Come see how she does it!
